It’s our first snow storm of the season here in Asheville, North Carolina which calls for a day of snuggling down. This atmosphere, combined with my baby turning one in a few weeks, has me feeling reflective. It’s wild to be on the other side of an accomplished dream. To realize that just a couple of years prior there was nothing more than an idea to build something beautiful, where now there is something tangible and real that’s able to be shared with people we adore.
My first time experiencing this particular kind of magic was when Travis and I embarked on this wild idea to buy and refab a house with very little design or building experience. What followed was a 2 year journey filled with design classes, tool purchasing, lots of sweat equity, the forming of a small business, (getting pregnant!!), and eventually the real test- putting the house on the market. I am still floored that all of our hard work paid off so generously. We sold the house for nearly 50% more than what we paid for it 2 years prior and the buyers purchased all of our furniture with the intention of keeping it exactly as designed for their new short term rental.
Check out the pictures below of some great before and afters. If you’re looking for help setting up your short term rental, we’d love to hear from you! Best of luck in all your dreams.
